Top-ranked Georgia (12-0, 8-0 SEC) will be looking to capture its 15th SEC title and second straight when it meets No. 8 Alabama (11-1, 8-0 SEC) Saturday in Atlanta. The Bulldogs completed their third consecutive perfect regular season, which is a school record. Also, the 2023 senior class has tied the school mark for victories as they enter the postseason now 49-3. The 2022 class went 49-5.

The Bulldogs are making their 11th appearance in the SEC Championship Game (SECCG) where they are 4-6. Georgia claimed the 2022 SEC crown when it beat LSU while the others came in 2002 (Arkansas), 2005 (LSU) and 2017 (Auburn). Georgia is making its sixth appearance in the SECCG in the Kirby Smart era where it’s 2-3. The Bulldogs are the visiting team this year

Georgia’s 14 conference titles rank the second most in the SEC. Georgia will be aiming for its first win over Alabama in an SECCG after falling in 2012, 2018 and 2021. In the all-time series, Alabama leads 42-26-4. The Bulldogs won the last meeting, posting a 33-18 triumph in the 2022 CFP National Championship Game in Indianapolis, Ind.

ATLANTA, Ga. — The top-ranked Georgia football team continued to make Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium a home away from home Saturday night. In the Bulldogs’ regular-season finale, they rushed for 262 on their way to a 31-23 win over the Yellow Jackets, winning their 12th straight game on their in-state rival’s home field.

With the win, the Bulldogs’ 29th in a row, Georgia now has the longest winning streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs entered the game tied with a pair of Alabama squads over the years that won 28 straight. The win was also the 49th by the 2023 senior class, tying the program record set by the 2022 seniors.

Its regular season complete, and its run of consecutive regular-season wins at 39 games, Georgia (12-0) now turns its attention to next Saturday’s SEC Championship Game matchup against No. 8 Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Georgia has now won six in a row over Tech (6-6). Saturday’s win didn’t come easily, especially with the offense playing without weapons Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey and Rara Thomas, who were out while nursing injuries. The trio have a combined 100 receptions this season. Georgia also hurt itself with a two turnovers and six penalties for 60 yards.

Extending The Streaks:

With tonight’s 31-23 win, Georgia (12-0, 8-0 SEC) extended its school record for consecutive victories to 29, which is the longest in SEC history and the longest nationally since 2018-19 when Clemson won 29 straight. Georgia’s winning streak began during the 2021 season (Dec. 31) when the Bulldogs beat #2 Michigan 34-11 in a CFP semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl.

Georgia has won 15 straight road games which leads the FBS.

The Bulldogs extended their school record for consecutive regular season wins to 39 which leads all of FBS. This streak began during the 2020 season with a 31-24 win over Miss. State. on Nov. 21.

The Bulldogs are now 45-1 in their last 46 games including 15 straight wins in an opponent’s stadium.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. —Carson Beck threw three touchdown passes, wide receiver Dillon Bell caught one and threw one, and the No. 1-ranked Georgia football team rolled to a 38-10 win over No. 18 Tennessee on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 101,915 at Neyland Stadium.

Georgia (11-0, 8-0 SEC) was behind 7-0 in the blink of an eye after the Volunteers (7-4, 3-4) scored on the first play from scrimmage. But the Bulldogs answered with 24 straight points to take control of the game. Georgia out-gained the Vols 472-277, with Beck completing 24 of 30 passes for 298 yards. Defensive back Tykee Smith led a strong defensive effort with 10 tackles — one of seven Bulldogs with at least three stops.

With the win, Georgia completes a third straight undefeated run through SEC play. It’s the first time that’s happened in the conference since the Bulldogs did it from 1980-82. Saturday’s win extended Georgia’s school-record win streak to 28 games, tying it for the longest streak in SEC history.

With today’s 38-10 win over No. 18 UT, Georgia (11-0, 8-0 SEC) extended its school record for consecutive victories to 28. The winning streak began during the 2021 season (Dec. 31) when the Bulldogs beat #2 Michigan 34-11 in a CFP semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl. This streak now ties the mark for the longest in SEC history (UA won 28 in a row from 1978-80 and 1991-93).

Georgia extended its school record with its 27th consecutive regular season SEC victory dating to a 31-24 win over Miss. State on Nov. 21, 2020. This streak now ties as the longest in SEC history (UA did it from 1976-80).

Georgia became the first team in SEC history to go 8-0 in league play three straight seasons since it went to divisions and an eight-game slate in 1992.

The Bulldogs extended their school record for consecutive regular season wins to 38 which leads all of FBS. This streak began during the 2020 season with a 31-24 win over Miss. State. on Nov. 21. Also, Georgia is now 7-2 when ESPN College GameDay Show in on campus.

On Saturday at No. 13 Tennessee, Georgia takes aim at an SEC regular season three-peat, that is to go 8-0 in three consecutive seasons, something that no other program has done since the league went to an eight-game schedule in 1992. In 2021, the Bulldogs posted their first perfect 8-0 SEC mark in school history with an average margin of victory of 31.9 points. The 2022 Bulldogs followed with another 8-0 SEC season with the average margin of victory of 25.5. The 2023 Bulldogs have an average margin of victory in SEC games this year of 19.9.

UT (7-3, 3-3 SEC), coached by Josh Heupel, has won 14 straight home games, which is the third longest active streak at home behind Georgia (25) and Michigan (21). The Vols average 32.0 ppg while allowing 20.2 ppg. UT ranks eighth nationally in rushing offense (213.3 ypg). They rank second in the SEC with 33 sacks. UT is coming off a 36-7 road loss to No. 12 Missouri as the Tigers tallied 531 yards of total offense, the most allowed by the Vols this year. UT came into that contest allowing an SEC-low 97 yards rushing per game but the league leader, Cody Schrader, scampered for 205 yards on 35 carries.

The 2022 contest in Athens marked the first 1-2 (Associated Press ranking) matchup in Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium history and was just the third ever top five matchup. The Bulldogs, No. 1 in the polls but No. 3 in the initial CFP rankings, faced off against Tennessee who was No. 1 in the CFP. Along with CBS broadcasting the game, ESPN College GameDay and SEC Nation were all in Athens. Georgia emerged with a 27-13 victory. UT entered the contest ranked No. 1 in the county in points per game (49.4). Georgia’s defense limited them to 289 yards on 75 plays.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with UT 27-23-2 including winning the past six meetings. This is the longest streak of Bulldog success in the series. The Bulldogs are 6-1 against the Vols under Kirby Smart, the lone defeat coming in 2016 on a Hail-Mary by Josh Dobbs in Athens. He completed a 43-yarder to Jauan Jennings as time expired to lift No. 11 Tennessee past No. 25 Georgia 34-31.

The Bulldogs are one of only three teams in the country who are ranked in the top 10 in both Scoring Offense and Scoring Defense. The Bulldogs rank sixth in Scoring Defense at 15.6 ppg and sixth in Scoring Offense at 40.6 ppg. The other two teams are Michigan (10-0) and SMU (8-2).

One of the keys to Georgia’s success is its third down defense. The Bulldogs are ranked seventh nationally with opponents converting just 28 percent of the time. In SEC action, Georgia opponents are a combined 26-for-84 on third downs (28 percent). The Bulldogs lead the country in converting third downs (56 percent). Georgia has converted 47 of 86 third downs (55 percent) against league opponents.

Since the arrival of Kirby Smart in 2016, the Bulldogs have featured talented defenses and twice led the nation in Scoring Defense. This season, Georgia is ranked sixth nationally allowing 15.6 points/game.

ATHENS, Ga. — The undefeated Georgia football team wrapped up its home schedule in emphatic fashion in front of a sellout crowd of 92,746 Saturday night at Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs piled up more than 600 yards of offense in a dominating 52-17 win over Ole Miss in a matchup of top-10 teams. It was the Bulldogs’ 27th consecutive victory and their 25th win in a row on Dooley Field.

Before the game even began, Georgia (10-0, 7-0 SEC), which remains ranked No. 1 in the polls and No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, clinched the SEC East Division championship after Missouri knocked off Tennessee, 36-7. The Bulldogs will face Alabama in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Dec. 2. The Bulldogs wrap up SEC play next Saturday at Tennessee.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck completed 18 of 25 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns, while Kendall Milton, on Senior Day, ran for a career-high 127 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries. The Bulldog offense didn’t face a third down until late in the second quarter, rushed for 311 yards, and out-gained No. 10 Ole Miss 610-352.
