IRVING, Texas – The College Football Playoff (CFP) Selection Committee met virtually this week in preparation for the upcoming season.

“We don’t know right now what the season will bring, but as a committee, we are ready to use the protocol and the expertise of the 13 people who have been charged with selecting the teams,” said Gary Barta, Athletics Director at the University of Iowa who is beginning his first year as committee chair.

“The committee’s task is to rank the teams based on what happens on the field. This week gave us a great chance to catch up with the familiar faces and welcome our three new members to the process. If the board and management committee say we are having a CFP, we will be ready.”

Source: A decision is (finally) expected next week from the NCAA on fall championships. That could linger as a factor into decisions by conferences. “Can we live in a world where the Big 12, ACC, SEC, American, Conference USA and Sun Belt are playing football….

Mike Bobo was on my UGA staff for the first 14 yrs that I was there. During those years I cannot remember receiving 1 complaint from a parent, HS coach or more importantly student athlete about how he was treated by Mike. The same goes for any staff member. Mike blessed UGA!

No complaints here either coach and this is coming form a guy who coached me everyday for 5 years! One of the most standup guys/coaches I’ve had the chance to be around. He not only cared about me being the best player but an even better man. All luv from me @CoachMikeBobo https://t.co/30b25hbkBm

Known @CoachMikeBobo for 25 yrs. Count me among the parade of players/teammates/coaches who denounce the smearing of a good man. What’s been alleged is repugnant, not only due to nature of whats alleged but also b/c whom its been made against. Ridiculous that this felt necessary

I can only speak to my personal experiences w/ @CoachMikeBobo while at UGA. He loved his players & pushed us to be the best versions of ourselves on & off the field. His character & treatment of us was never in question. My family & I love and appreciate Coach Bobo & his family.

You’ve heard some of us say constantly how badly the players want to play.
College football coaches and support staff all over the nation have told me that almost daily.
It ultimately may not be up to the players — but they’re speaking up.
Check out #WeWantToPlay.
It’s a chorus.
