UGA Men’s Basketball: Dawgs Announce Non-Conference Schedule

ATHENS, Ga. — The non-conference portion of head coach Mike White‘s first season with the Georgia Bulldogs has been finalized. The Bulldogs will open the 2022-23 campaign by hosting Western Carolina on Monday, Nov. 7, with eight of 13 games prior to SEC play also taking place at Stegeman Coliseum.

Three of Georgia’s first four games will be at home. Following the matchup with Western Carolina, the Bulldogs will venture to Winston-Salem, N.C., on Friday, Nov. 11. The Demon Deacons will return the date with a matchup at Stegeman Coliseum on Nov. 10, 2023.

Georgia will then host Miami (Ohio) and Bucknell on Monday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 18, respectively. The matchup with Bucknell actually is part of the Sunshine Slam, a multi-team event. Georgia will face St. Joseph’s on Monday, Nov. 21 in Daytona Beach, Fla., as part of the tournament and then play either South Florida or UAB on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The Bulldogs will then host a three-game homestand featuring games against East Tennessee State on Sunday, Nov. 27; Hampton on Wednesday, Nov. 30; and Florida A&M on Friday, Dec. 2.

NEWARK, N.J. – In a back-and-forth contest, the University of Georgia men’s basketball team fell to Virginia, 65-55, in the semifinals of the Roman Legends Classic Monday evening at the Prudential Center.

Senior Braelen Bridges led Georgia (2-3) in scoring with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting with five rebounds. Graduate Jailyn Ingram posted his 11th career double-double and first with Georgia as he scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Fellow graduate Aaron Cook led the Bulldogs with eight assists. For the game, Georgia shot 37 percent from the field and outrebounded Virginia (3-2) by a 42-29 margin.

ATHENS, Ga. – In a battle of bordering Bulldogs, the University of Georgia men’s basketball team rebounded with a 76-60 victory over South Carolina State Tuesday evening before 6,021 spectators at Stegeman Coliseum.

Graduate Aaron Cook led Georgia (2-1) with 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting to go with a team-high seven assists and three steals. Sophomore Kario Oquendo tallied a career-high 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting, while redshirt senior Braelen Bridges pitched in with 15 points and a third-consecutive game with eight rebounds. For the evening, the Bulldogs shot 45.9 percent from the field, including a 31.8 percent clip from beyond the arc.

UGA Men’s Basketball: Bulldogs’ SEC Tip Times, TV Assignments Set

ATHENS, Ga. — Stegeman Coliseum will be busy on Saturday afternoons this winter. Four of the Georgia Bulldogs’ five home weekend SEC games will be matinee matchups, with game time for the fifth date still to be determined.

The Southeastern Conference announced the game times and television assignments for all 14 league schools for the upcoming season on Thursday. Tip-off times and TV designations for Georgia’s non-conference games in November and December are yet to be finalized.

Four of the Bulldogs’ home dates will appear on the ESPN family of networks, while the other five will air on the SEC Network.
