ATHENS, Ga. – Week fourteen of NFL action is complete, and several former Bulldogs had exceptional performances for their respective teams.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to state his case for NFL MVP as he turned in another dominant performance in the win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Stafford completed 22 of 31 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns, bringing his touchdown pass total to 35, which ranks first in the NFL. In addition to his passing touchdown totals, Stafford ranks fourth in the NFL in passing yards (3,354), and is the current favorite to win NFL MVP, which would make him just the second former Bulldog to win the award (Terrell Davis, 1998).
Meanwhile, a trio of former Bulldogs led an impressive defensive effort for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers. Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, and Nolan Smith Jr., combined for 19 tackles, two and a half sacks, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and five quarterback hits. Along with their performance on Monday night, both Dean and Davis set new career highs in sacks.
