Fast Facts On The Georgia-Kentucky Series

Georgia leads the UK series 64-12-2 including winning the past 15 meetings dating to 2010. That is the second longest winning streak against an opponent in school history, trailing only 22 in a row against Mercer from 1892-1941.

When the 2026 SEC football schedule was released last Tuesday, it should be noted that Georgia will not play Kentucky for the first time since 1955! Georgia will travel to Kentucky in 2027.

Georgia and Kentucky first met on the gridiron in 1939, a 13-6 Wildcat win in Louisville.

Kentucky’s last victory in the series came in Athens under the lights in 2009 (34-27). Since then, Georgia had won 26 consecutive home night games until last Saturday against No. 17 UA.

In 2024, top-ranked Georgia escaped Kentucky with a 13-12 win. The Bulldogs trailed 6-3 at the half, tallying just three first downs and 63 total yards. Georgia took its first lead with 10:28 left in the fourth quarter after a 10-play, 68-yard touchdown drive. It was capped by a Branson Robinson three-yard plunge. Georgia’s defense limited the Wildcats to four field goals on the night.

The Wildcats arrive in Athens with a 2-2 mark including 0-2 in the SEC. This past Saturday in Columbia, S.C., they fell to the Gamecocks 35-13. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs lost for the first time Between the Hedges in six years when No. 17 UA held on for a 24-21 victory to snap Georgia’s school record 33-game home winning streak.
