ATHENS — The third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are in the College Football Playoff for the second time and will play second-ranked Michigan in the Capital One Orange Bowl semi-final game on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.
The semifinal game will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, between the third-ranked Bulldogs (12-1) and the Big Ten champion Wolverines (12-1). It will be televised on ESPN and broadcast on the ESPN Radio Network.
Georgia and Michigan have only met twice before with both meetings taking place in Ann Arbor: 1957 (Michigan 26, Georgia 0); and 1965 (Georgia 15, Michigan 7).
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia junior Nakobe Dean has become the second Bulldog to win the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s best collegiate linebacker.
Dean, a native of Horn Lake, Miss., garnered 34 percent of the weighted vote and 52 percent of the first-place votes to secure the award. He was chosen from the other finalists consisting of Utah’s Devin Lloyd, Wisconsin’s Leo Chenal, LSU’s Damone Clark, Cincinnati’s Darrian Beavers and Wyoming’s Chad Muma, according to an announcement from the Butkus Foundation.
