Georgia has been ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in 25 of the past 27 AP polls, with the other two weeks at No. 3.
Top-ranked Georgia enters the UK contest with a 10-0 mark including 7-0 in the SEC after registering a 45-19 win at Mississippi State. The Wildcats dropped to 6-4 overall, 3-4 SEC after being upset 24-21 by Vanderbilt in Lexington. Georgia has a chance to post an 8-0 SEC regular season record for the second year in a row.
The Bulldogs lead the series with UK 61-12-2 including 29-7 in Lexington. Georgia is riding its longest winning streak in the series. The streak stands at 12 overall including the last seven in Lexington. Last year, the Bulldogs claimed a 30-13 win in Athens while the 2020 game in Lexington was only 14-3. The Wildcats last win in the series came in 2009 (34-27 in Athens), and their last win over Georgia at home was in 2006 (13-10).
The 2022 Wildcats boast another stout defense as they have held 13 of their last 14 opponents to 24 points or less. UK runs a pro-style offense led by quarterback Will Levis who is on an array of national award watch lists.
