UGA Recruiting: Five Star Seems Locked in With Alabama
“Me, personally, I don’t think it changes the fundamentals,” Downs’ dad said to On3. “Bama has lost two close games. Obviously, those schools that beat them are very excited because they beat the most dominant program in the last 10, 15 years of college football. Fundamentally, nothing has changed with Bama. Nick Saban is still the head coach. Still running the same scheme. Fundamentals and principles of the program haven’t changed. Georgia and Ohio State, they run their programs in a way in which they can go 12-0 every year. Or, they lose a game or two. The fundamentals of those programs have not changed, either.
“I don’t think you can make a decision based off one or two games, or based off a single season,” Mr. Downs continued. “The ball bounces one way this year and bounces differently next… I believe it doesn’t change, fundamentally, what he likes about Alabama. Nothing has changed in that regard.”
