UGA Recruiting: Georgia Offer Was a BIG One for Talented Defensive Lineman
“So, my athletic director got a call from a random number, and the number kept calling over and over. He was ignoring it, but eventually, he answered. It was Georgia, and they wanted to talk to me,” Downs told On3. “Later, Coach [Tray] Scott and I got on the phone, and he said he loved my tape and felt like I was an under-the-radar type of guy and offered me. He told me to keep working hard and that he loves the things I’m doing at Riverside. Also, he wants me to come up there for spring practice, so I’m looking forward to that.“
“It gave me the chills,” Downs said. “When he told me I was offered, I was very excited and hyped. I had a lot of energy. Georgia is a great school, and I love the things they are doing there. I’m definitely gonna visit soon.”
