“They definitely were very adamant on that, the second contract you get from the league rather than selling out for a bag now. And I honestly agree with them,” Sam-Epelle said. “The real money does start when you get that second contract. That’s life-changing money right there. I feel like if the decision, if the deciding factor in somebody’s recruitment process is over a hundred thousand dollars short or a hundred thousand dollars more, I mean, ultimately they’re not in it for the right reason.”
